Jun 29, 2011. #1. My Johnson 150 Faststrike (1994, J150GLERA) is only firing on half it's cylinders. After this problem first started I changed the power pack - didn't help. I also disconnected the shift switch - didn't help. Checked the compression in all 6 cylinders - all good. Checked the spark - 1 side was good, the other had nothing.Carbrrators; 4 or 6 individual, VRO mounted between. The top-view motor covers were roughly rectangular in shape and most had vents along the rear sides (1st image). Pumps # 06-150 (V6) & 04-90 (V4) below must be used for these. The 90° V4 amp; V6 motors had a fairly distinct triangular top-view profile.
